The referendum rule in the Ham Lake Charter was established to give Ham Lakers a vote on big ticket expenditures that come before the council. The idea was to
empower the citizens and to limit the government on any bonding issue in excess of $1 million (adjusted for inflation).
Currently in Ham Lake that amount is around $1.2 million. Lakes and Loons wants to know how you feel about the rule and if you would like to see changes to the
charter. We are offering you the opportunity to voice your opinion in our Lakes and Loons on line poll. Feel free to go online at: lakesandloons.com and click
on “Referendum Poll”. You can check the results anytime on line.
